KS3 Oracy Unit 3: Speak to Be Heard | Rhetoric, Voice + Speeches

From answering in class to speaking at an interview, presentational talk is where oracy is most visible. This unit trains delivery, structure and rhetoric - ending with every pupil delivering a two-minute persuasive speech. One pack, three ways to teach it: a Launch Assembly (script + deck), six no-prep Form Tutor sessions (15-20 min) and six Full Lessons (50-60 min), all with decks. The six sessions: 1) The speaker's instrument (breath, projection, articulation) 2) Hooks and endings 3) Ethos, pathos, logos 4) The toolbox (rule of three, contrast, repetition, rhetorical questions) 5) Know your audience 6) The speech.
